D35: Better transport links for Dašice

2021 brought a significant improvement in the transport accessibility of the MD logistika warehouses in Dašice in eastern Bohemia. The 12.6 km-long Opatovice nad Labem – Časy section of the D35 motorway was opened on 15 December, thus bringing a direct connection between Dašice and the Czech motorway network significantly closer. Another milestone will be the 14.7 km-long Časy – Ostrov connecting section, which will open in 2022 and will include the Dašice exit. “This will give us a fast connection to the motorway network, further strengthening Dašice’s strategic position in approximately the centre of the former Czechoslovakia. This will enable us to effectively distribute goods for our clients, for whom – particularly in the food industry – time is a key service quality parameter,” says Kateřina Kačírková, MD logistika sales manager.

          Dašice thus combines an attractive location for the storage of chilled, frozen and dry goods outside the capital yet in the centre of the country and with a direct connection to the European motorway network. MD logistika is thus expanding the capacity of its warehouses in Dašice with the most recently opened C10 freezer storage facility for almost 3,700 pallet positions, put into operation in January 2022. The company is also preparing the construction of the S2 dry warehouse with a capacity of 40,000 pallet positions for this location.

The planned route of the D35 motorway is Jičín – Hradec Králové – Olomouc – Lipník nad Bečvou. This will connect four regional cities and cross five other motorways (D11, D43, D46, D55 and D1). With a total length of around 207 km, it will be one of the longest Czech motorways. The D35 will form part of the global TEN-T European transport corridor network.
