We retain our IFS Logistics Higher Level certification for both warehouses
The regular IFS Logistics standards annual audit at the MD logistika sites in Dašice and Horní Počernice was conducted in August. This year, auditors from Tüv SÜd Czech visited both MD logistika sites between 18 and 20 August 2021. The audit confirmed that the logistics activities here meet the requirements set by the current version of the IFS Logistics Higher Level standard for handling food during transport and storage.
IFS Logistics is a special form of the IFS (International Food Standard) standards that govern food handling and are intended for logistics organisations. It applies to the storage of food at room temperature, for frozen and chilled goods, and for non-food products. It focuses on identifying and reducing health risks during the transport, storage and distribution of food.
“The contributions made by all employees mean that we succeeded in obtaining the highest achievable IFS Logistics certificate for both our sites. This is awarded to companies that meet over 95% of all requirements of the standard,” says David Žemlička, quality and insurance manager at MD logistika, adding, “Today, for companies engaged in storing and distributing food for retail chains, IFS is an ever-more-important condition for success on the market. Some clients even check the level the logistics services provider has attained. We therefore take great care to operate in accordance with IFS requirements all year round, and that we get our certificate renewed every year.” The company will undergo the next quality management system audit by the Tüv SÜd Czech certification authority in another year’s time.
IFS standards were developed by food chain interest associations primarily to create uniform food safety and quality rules. All the current certificates are published on the MD logistika website.
